I was invited to be part of a show in LA where artists were asked to reinterpret the paper doll. I conveniently added toilet to the beginning of that title.
There are random memories we all carry with us into adult hood. For me, knitted and crocheted toilet paper roll holders are one of them . I would see different interpretations of these (as well as wine bottle covers and tissue cozies) at the church bazaar when I was a kid. It was kind of disturbing to see a doll being morphed and used for something other than playing or pretending. Later on in my childhood, I was obsessed with “Nightmare on Elm Street” and watched every single one, even if that meant I slept clinched to my dad for a week. So I found great joy and delight by intersecting these two memories of my childhood that both brought me nightmares. Would love to hear what you think!
If you happen to be in LA please stop by !

Brilliant!
Bawhahaha! Love the Freddie flicks. This is too awesome. I always found those TP dolls creepy. Sitting there watching you. Having to pull their skirt up if you ran out. Head spinning, eyes following you and calling your name over and over. Wait, what?
you’re so right. Someone needs to make a movie. It would be better than any Chucky flick.
Brilliant. As the worlds biggest obsessive Rabid Horror toy fan I salute you!
Don of the Dead
(I have plenty of other toys to try this with)

you weren’t kidding! If you do make some, send pics!
I saw this on a friend’s Facebook page. When I saw your Freddy Krueger TP cover, I remembered how many characters were trying to poke out of different bodies in those movies–including his! How hilarious! Great job!
if you somehow added a voice that chanted “bloody mary” when the faucet turns on, I don’t think I can ever go in your bathroom. seriously.
