SKY.it posted a video with a sneak peak of Il Lusso Essenziale, the Roman festival I tagged this month. And yes – that’s right. My first gallery installation. The video is all in Italian, but the article is handily translated by google here. Thanks Rome, for being good to me.
More recap and pictures coming soon.
I’m in Rome, setting up for Il Lusso Essenziale [and on Facebook here], a Roman arts festival that celebrates “the rediscovery of the extraordinary nature of everyday life,” or, the luxury of the essential. This Smart Car is only the first bit of my participation…
Knit tubes, wound up like psychedelic cinnamon buns
A sneak peak into the production of my next very exciting project going up in Rome next month… My living room has been taken over as a studio this spring, and the floor is covered with these neon tubes. In just a few weeks I can stop knitting for a while and install! I’ll be experimenting with some new processes and concepts for this exhibition at Rome’s Palazzo delle Esposizioni, so expect more pictures and news soon.
As for now, I have a few projects going up closer to home for Art Week Austin, April 21-25. If you’re in Texas, come by!
