road trip picnic
After we indulged ourselves in our wanderlust and the wrapping of a MINI Countryman, we sat down in the Texas spring with some friends and Franklin BBQ for a picnic. That had to be Knitta’d too, of course.

knitting a road trip, complete
We’re ready to hit the road with the MINI. On our way out, we’re going to tag a few places around Austin and then have a picnic with some friends, where we’re gonna pig out on Franklin BBQ (YUMM). Nothing like an entire weekend to wander in Texas spring…

knitting a road trip
We’re diagnosing a case of wanderlust and taking a road trip. We got our hands on this pretty little MINI Countryman, but we’re making a few of our own adjustments before we begin. We had a ton of leftover (unclaimed) knitting from last month’s Knitted Wonderland over at the Blanton, so we decided to make this an Austin car by repurposing the creativity and passion of Austin’s knitters. With that project being so short-lived, we figured this would be a good way to get a few more miles out of the work and let the city enjoy it a bit longer. Just wait till you see us driving around town! (Please, no pile-ups on our account.)
Update on completed project coming soon…
Eigenwerk – the online German craft magazine

We feel honored to be featured in the first issue of Eigenwerk, an online craft blog/magazine based out of Germany. It features all kinds of craft, knit designs, artists and generally quite hip stuff in the world of contemporary DIY/design. It’s totally worth checking out – even if you don’t speak German!! Flip through the entire issue online then tell Christian & team how cool it is at the magazine’s official facebook page.
(P.S. Welcome to spring, northern hemisphere readers!)
images and stories from A Knitted Wonderland
There has been much clamoring for an extension, and we finally got the okay from UT’s Keeper of the Trees. We are so pleased to announce that Knitted Wonderland will stay up at the Blanton for another week, until March 25th.
