Etsy Pop-Up Store – recap and links!

On Saturday, Knitta hosted an Etsy pop-up store at West Elm in Houston where we met up with some of our favorite Houston-based vendors and found some new favorites as well.

Argentina day 7…8? Jeez I don’t know….

I can’t wait to tell you about this AMAZING AWESOME project. I have to be good and keep my mouth shut which is way harder than I thought…but I will distract you ( and myself) with good pics……

Here I am with Jamie, one of the creatives, at a charming little restaurant that serves lots of cheese and meat as you can see. I discovered Patagonia Beer and ate Spanish peanuts. I swear I’m working…..

This is adorable Angeles at her awesome apartment. She just finished showing me her retractable roof…YES, it is retractable.

dinner last night at this house that is a restaurant and recording studio and bar and rooftop garden and simply too much too handle. I had a cocktail made with arugula…strange but tasty. Two good people Royden and Anna and clearly an attack of wine glasses. The Malbec continuously flows here.

This is Mab, the main animator. He’s so….hmm…well if I were younger, I would take him home with me…I would insist…..long pause while I ponder that thought for a moment. That white blob is part if this secret project so for now just assume he is a one glove kinda guy..that’s just how he rolls.

I am now getting the full Argentinian experience. I had to raise my camera above the heads in this crowded bar that looks like it’s been open for 100 years or more. This man was singing about love and passion and everyone was listening intensely as he sang. The young people are carrying on these traditions and have this respect for their culture that I haven’t seen yet in my experiences. Young people tango as much as the the older people do. I’m sure I’ll have to take an embarrassing stab at that soon.

I had a chance to spend the day in Delta in Tigre. It is only 45 minutes away from Buenos Aires. How cool would it be to live less than an hour from something that is so heavenly?? I was told that these houses don’t have addresses. They have descriptions like yellow house or house with 2 lion statues in front. I want to live here. I admit it….give me the simple life for just a little bit. I’m sure I’ll miss the big city or sushi eventually but I’ll deal with that when the time comes.

The name of this gas station on the water is SONIA. If I ever had a fondness for a gas station it would be this one.

I am pretty sure this tree comes from some magical forest near by.

como va che?

I always start these trips with a traditional cocktail. Who wouldn’t?? If I were being REALLY traditional I would have a Fernet and Coke but that is for the brave and young. I settled for this lovely drink, Pisco Sour at Olsons. Not super Argentinian, but I have made up for this in the last few days…

Antonio is THE MAN when it comes to stop motion animation here in Argentina and Sam is the producer who I have worked with in the past who is just simply amazing. The smile you see here is how she is all the time…a happy person and a bad ass at her job. more pics to come!
